Doctor Chen Gongxiong has published over two hundred works, including Chorus Essence, Chorus Kingdom, and Chorus for Everyone. In fact, he has edited more chorus collections than any other well-known Chinese conductor or composer. He has also delivered far more lectures (approximately three thousand) than any other music educator or social activist. Worth special mention is the fact that he has visited twenty-two provinces and municipalities and lectured at over 180 prestigious universities and normal universities in Mainland China.

Doctor Chen was born in 1940 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Twenty-seven years ago, with the ambition of using chorus as a tool to help his countrymen live a unified, harmonious, and healthy life, he and his family moved to Taipei. At various points, he served as chief editor of FM Music Group in China Broadcasting Company, director of the Music Department at China Christian College, and teacher in the music departments of Taipei Normal University, Taiwan Seminary, and several other colleges and universities.

In 1989, Dr. Chen and his family moved back to their hometown of Kaohsiung. He built up the corporate body China Music-Culture-Education Fund. He worked as chief editor, publishing the 112-page monthly journal China Music Culture Education. He also developed his concepts of "Love-and-Music/Love-and-Joy"and Versatility-Education, which educate and entertain people with respectful love, activate the right brain and beautify life with Nice Music, and educate people to have high standards of moral virtue, intelligence, physical well-being, social conduct, beauty, and love, in order to help make the world a paradise of love.
